About Vionter
Vionter is a personal knowledge-management platform for professional growth. It works out what you can actually do, shows you what a goal requires, and gives you a way to close the difference through practice. The part that makes it different is the part most tools skip: your skill ratings come from evidence, never from you rating yourself.
What the product does
Everything follows one repeating cycle. You upload a resume, or have a short conversation instead, and Vionter turns it into a structured picture of your skills. You practise out loud with an AI coach in a live conversation aimed at the skills that matter for your goal. After each session the picture updates. Short recap cards resurface what came up, so it sticks instead of evaporating.
Each pass feeds the next. Practising surfaces things a resume never mentioned, which sharpens the picture, which produces better-aimed practice next time.
How the rating actually works
This is the mechanism worth understanding, because it is where most skill-tracking tools quietly give up. Asking someone to rate their own Python out of five produces a number that measures their confidence, not their Python. Confidence and competence come apart in both directions, and the gap is largest exactly where the stakes are highest.
So Vionter never asks. A rating is inferred from two kinds of evidence: what is written in your resume, and what you demonstrated correctly during a live practice session. Saying you know something moves nothing. Showing it does. That is the whole design, and it is why the picture gets more accurate the more you use it rather than drifting toward whatever you believe about yourself on a given day.
Ratings stay editable. If one reads too high or too low, you change it, and your edit becomes the ground truth for that skill. The system is evidence-led, not stubborn.
Who it is for
Professionals in career motion. In practice that has meant four situations, and the same loop serves all of them: preparing for a specific job, growing toward the next level, keeping current skills from going stale, and watching which skills the market keeps asking for.
Interview preparation is the sharpest and most urgent version of the problem, which is why it is where most people meet us. It is not the whole product. The skill picture persists after the interview, and the more useful half of the idea is what it does in the years between job hunts.
What we do not claim
Vionter is new, and we would rather say what that means than paper over it.
- We publish no success rates, offer rates, or user testimonials. We do not have a body of outcomes yet, and inventing one would be both a lie and, in structured-data terms, a policy violation. Any numbers you see on this site describe the mechanism or are labelled demo output.
- We do not promise you a job. No tool can. What Vionter can do is make the gap between where you are and where you are aiming specific enough to work on.
- The AI gets things wrong. Ratings are generated by a language model reading imperfect evidence, and it can be confidently wrong. We wrote a whole page about how and why, rather than burying it in a footnote. See how Vionter's AI works.
How it is built
Vionter runs on Google's Gemini model family. Every AI surface in the product, from proficiency ratings and gap analysis through to interview feedback and recap cards, is produced by Gemini, with Vionter supplying the career context and the product around it. The details, including where the model is weakest, are in how Vionter's AI works.
A note on who writes here
Everything Vionter publishes is published as Vionter. There is no personal byline on our articles, no founder profile, and no individual account speaking for the company. That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight, and it costs us something real, since a named expert is an easy credibility signal. We would rather earn it with mechanism we can explain, research we cite and link, and claims narrow enough to be checked.
